The main re...I use it, at least in a general sense. The main reason is because I don't see combat happening in a "first you go, then I go" sort of way. Everything happens at once, and initiative just determines whose action finishes first. So I tell the players what they see the enemies doing (including spellcasters beginning a spell), then they tell me in general what they are doing, then we roll initiative, and then we resolve the attacks. People attacking with weapons can change targets if necessary, but spellcasters are committed to their spell (and if they lose initiative it could be disrupted).<br /><br />If the two sides were both charging each other, I usually have them "meet in the middle" rather than have the side that won initiative cover the entire distance before the other side gets to move at all.Jesse Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10802754799848483493noreply@blogger.com
